BenQ's Slim beauty

BENQ recently launched what it claims is the world's thinnest 24in widescreen monitor – the V2400W, which is a mere 62mm at its thickest point.

Targeted at the premium luxury-lifestyle market, the V2400W offers the first glimpse of BenQ’s new Kinergy Design approach.

Among other things, the new design approach uses Rapid Heat Cycle Molding (RHCM) Injection Technology, which enables new shapes and designs to be made beyond the traditional boxiness, BenQ said.

Torque and friction between the metallic parts of the hinge are precisely calculated so that the right-sided stand can safely support the 24in widescreen and also provide the flexibility to adjust viewing angles. A mirror-black finish highlights the monitor’s premium status and a subtle blue LED and slick touch controls complete the V2400W's look, BenQ said.

Cool design aside, the V2400W does not hold back either when it comes to incorporating advanced features.

The RM1,499 monitor comes with the proprietary Advanced Motion Accelerator Technology (AMA) for super-fast 2ms GTG (gray to gray) response time; a 4,000:1 contrast ratio as well as full 1080p HD support.

There are also various ports such as HDMI, DVI-D and VGA, which ensures that the monitor is future-proof in terms of high-definition connectivity and compatibility.
